Download Photomatix for Linux 1.1  (Ubuntu 12.04 & 14.04 / Linux Mint 17.3)

Installation

To install Photomatix for Linux:

  1. Double-click on the .deb package you have downloaded from the above link.
  2. The software installer should open. Click on the Install button of the software installer's window.

If you prefer to install via the command-line, or if installing with the instructions above doesn't work, you have two other options for installing Photomatix. Open a terminal window, then do either of the following:

If you have gdebi installed, you can install using this command:

sudo gdebi /path/to/downloaded-file.deb

Alternatively, you can use this command:

dpkg -i /path/to/downloaded-file.deb

Then, if there are any errors about unresolved dependencies:

sudo apt-get install -f

Installation on Ubuntu 18.04 LTS

First, install g++ and libgtkmm-3.0-dev by running the following commands in Terminal:

sudo apt-get install g++

sudo apt-get install libgtkmm-3.0-dev

Then, install Photomatix for Linux 1.1 for Ubuntu 16.04.

Installation on Kubuntu 17.10

First, install libgtkmm-3.0 first by using this command:

sudo apt install libgtkmm-3.0

Then, install Photomatix for Linux 1.1 for Ubuntu 16.04.

  • A new Tone Mapping method called Tone Balancer, which is good for realistic-looking results. It comes with six HDR settings and five built-in presets, such as the 'Realistic' preset.
  • Thumbnails for custom user presets.
  • A 'Finishing Touch' window, offering Contrast, Sharpening and Crop.
  • The Contrast Optimizer method has a new setting, called 'Luminance'.
  • EXIF and other metadata are now fully transferred to the final image.
  • Support for RAW files from recent camera models, including Canon 5D Mark IV, 6D Mark II and 800D, Nikon D5600, Sony A99 MK II and Panasonic GH5.
  • Made the position of the "Load Photos" window remembered across sessions.
